Forbiden

Prologue

DEEP IN THE FORESTS of Grant, Wisconsin, lies a girl names Vadell Chevvy. That girl is me. Well I'm not exactly a girl, more of a old teenager I would say. I'm a vampire, I've been one for over two hundred years and yes, even though I am a vampire, I would rather not reveal my exact age. There are many creatures that roam the night that aren't human, vampires are the ones that tend to do that the most, and so does the werewolf. As you may already may know, vampires and werewolves don't get along, we never have. Since the werewolves and vampries are very teritorial about their space, we've created a border. Vander's Gate is our teritory, It's east of Wisconsin Rapids and It covers about roughly 20 miles, everything east of the Mayberry Bridge is ours. Hender's Lodge is the werewolves teritory and It's everything west of Wisconsin Rapids, west of the Mayberry Bridge. The pack of vampires I lead are called The Night Stalkers. I was made leader when out former leader, Randolf died while trying to protect us from a pack of vampires. They do not have a name but if you ever come across them, run. We hunt at night to protect our identities. I have no doubt in my mind that the humans would use us for experiments and do they call "Making The World A Better Place." I will do everything in my power as a leader and as a protector to make sure that never happens to us. I'll put my life on It.

Chapter 1
I'M SITTING UP IN my bed, unable to get even the slightest bit of sleep. It's eleven minutes past nine. I should be asleep but instead, I'm tossing and turning, thinking that It shouldn't be this hard to fall asleep. This is useless, I thought. So I put on a short red robe and decided to walk around the house for a little while. Maybe I could go over Madeline's house and stay the night, well morning. There are four people in the group, not including me. There's Toby, I've known him since he's rescued me from some pretty shitty situations in the past and has been flirting on me ever since because he thinks I should "Repay him." He's overall a good guy. Then there's Madeline, a feisty dirty blond with a short temper. I still love her like a sister though. She and I are the only female ones in the pack so we're the closest in the group. And then there's Galen, the calm in a crisis and my very loyal friend. We found him last year when he was a newly turned vampire, in a way, he still is.

HE KILLED MANY PEOPLE because he didn't know how to control his thirst for blood. My pack and I came to an agreement with him that as long as he controls his urge to feed then we wouldn't kill him. He still has his moments however that he wants to kill people, as excepted, but we make sure that he and the rest of us, are keep far away from the human race. And then there's Joey, Randolf's younger brother. He and I never really got along because he always thought when Randolf died that he should of been the leader. Obviously It didn't work out that way. However, he and I for the most part, get along in really dangerous situations. I live in my own house and the other vampires live in their own houses, except for Galen, he stays with Madeline until we can see that he can control his urge. We are a pack of vampires but we sure as hell cannot stay in the same house with one another. We'd kill each other.

Chapter 2
I DECIDED TO GET out of bed and walk around the house since It looks like I'm not going anywhere right now. I paced around the house for a few minutes looking for anything to keep me busy and I finally walked over to where the phone was. I guess I should call Madeline to see if I can stay at her place for the night, well morning. One ring..two rings...three rings.. "Pick up." I say out loud to no one. After the fifth ring a voice came on the line. "Goodnight gorgeous," Madeline says. I hid a smile. "Good morning to you too Maddie. Hey I was wondering could I come over there until we start hunting later tonight?" She hesitates. Another voice in the background. It sounds like Galen. "Who's that?" I ask. She still doesn't say anything. "Madeline." I know she's still on the line, she just won't say anything. "How about another night. I was already having company over-" I cut her off. "You're dating Galen aren't you?" She giggles. "Well?" I blow out a sigh. "Well? You know I don't like people in the group dating each other." Madeline scoffs. "Oh come on. You said you didn't like people in the group dating. You didn't say we couldn't." Damn It she got me there. "Now am I right?" She says with pride. "Fuck you." I say. "I think I've been fucked-" I cut her off again. "I'll see you later today and, actually show up for hunting and tell Galen I said hi." I said in a tired voice. "Love you too." Madeline said before she hung up. I get up from the chair and run back to my room to put some clothes on. There's a new book out today that I reminded myself that I should get. Johnny's Cafe&Bookstore is where I usually get my books from and must be open by now. Maybe I could run down to his place for a little, anything to get me out of the house. Johnny and I have been good friends for about three years now and he always lets me get discounts on the books there, mostly because I'm attractive, at least that's what he says.

I COMB MY SHOULDER length brown hair and grab my ruffle vintage inspired ciffton white blouse and black belt and get my black glasses. I get a wad of cash and put It in my wallet. It's too much work trying to carry a purse around these days. Us vampires aren't really effected by sunlight like the myths claim, but when we spend all day out in the sun then It starts to take It's toll. But me personally I just like sunglasses for the hell of It. The bookstore isn't far from here, just about eight miles. That might be long for any human to run but for me It's just like a walk around the park. I walk outside the door and see the sun is trying to come out of the clouds. This is early spring time weather and It's been raining and snowing here since December but not today. Today is different. My group The Night Stalkers don't like me not having a car to go places because they've been spooked as shit by these disappearances of vampire leaders lately. I keep telling them that I'm just fine without a car and I can walk there instead. Cars are polluting too much of mother earth anyway. She's suffered enough. I look around to see if any one's watching me and then I walk across the street to the woods. Nope. The coast is clear. I don't have any close neighbors around here that I know of, not for at least a mile. I start running at ligthning fast speeds into the woods. Only a werewolve could even come close to catching us, and if It was, this wasn't their teritory to claim.

SOME ONE'S CLOSE AND GAINING speed on me. I know this because I can hear the leaves and the grass rattle as another person runs through them. I jump high up in the trees to try and avoid him but he mocks my every step. I haven't looked back yet, I never look back. This person definitely doesn't have vampire strength. No, something that might be even more powerful. Something that makes a old vampire like me nervous and I never want to be in that position. I can see Johnny's bookstore from here. No one has even came close to catching me in the past two hundred years. I finally almost get to the parking lot, have I ever been so glad to a parking space before, and jump on the roof to get away from whoever trying to catch me. The leaves and grass are rustling as we both edge out of the woods into the cement. I feel a hand on my lower back. He's that close already?!

HE'S THAT CLOSE ALREADY? I jumped off the roof and landed on the cement ground near the entrance of the door. We I got inside I immediately close the door hard behind me. So hard in fact, I see a small crack on the window door. I looked and no one was there. "What?" I whispered to no one. I knew everyone on this side of the entrance was looking at me, I could feel their eyes boring into my back. "Something wrong?" Johnny said walking up to me. He has dark skin and a short beard and never told me how old he is. Which is understandable. He's always so nice to me. I shook my head in disbelief. "Oh no, a little paranoid today." I said facing him. "Aren't we all?" He said giving me a warm hug.

AFTER THAT LITTLE INCIDENT in the woods and the hugging Johnny, we kind of had a awkward silence. "So is there anything in particular you're looking for?" He said after about ten seconds of silence. "Yes and I already know where It is." He stepped out of the way. "Well then I wouldn't want to come in the way of your book hunting." I gave him a smile. "Thanks." Sometimes he says the most unusual things sometimes but I guess I wouldn't like him if he were any different. I walked to the back of the store where the fantasy section was and I got a few more books than I was intended on getting. The first one was called Queens Of Werewolf World, the second was called Sword Cut, and the third was Ghost Of Vampire's Past. Even vampires like to read a few books here and there. I walked up to the cafe and a beautiful blond girl came from behind the coffee machine to greet me. "Hello and welcome to Johnny's Bookstore&Cafe'. How could I help you?" She must be new around here because almost all the staff knows me as a regular. "Yes I would like a chocolate mousse and a vanilla bean please?" She already had the chocolate mousse in her hand. "Would you like to pay for the books right here?" She asked fixing the vanilla bean. "Yes I would." A guy with short black hair walked up in front of me and I held my hand to keep him from getting any closer. Uh-oh. He has the scent of werewolf. Not good. He must of been the one in the woods, I quickly assumed. Time to get him back where he belongs. "I'll pay for the stuff." He said getting a twenty dollar bill out of his wallet. "That won't be necessary." I said quickly getting my money out. "I'll pay for It." He repeated and handed the blond girl a twenty. She gave me a bag for the three books and go to bag for the chocolate mousse and gave me a large vanilla bean just as I as for. "Here you go and enjoy your books." I smiled and said thank you to the girl. The guy in the red tee with black hair was still following me to the entrance. My anger started raising, fast. I have to get out of here now before I start something. Johnny saw from behind the cash register and almost ran out of It. "Who's your new man candy?" He whispered. "He's not, he's just-" He came from behind me again. "A friend from a long time ago." He said grabbing my waist. This is what I do when I'm about to go off the deep end. Three...two....one, "Who are you and why did you pay for my books and drink? I could of payed for It myself. I don't need your help." Yep. Officially pissed off Vadell is back.

NOW I KNOW THAT was rude for me to be mean to someone who just did a nice thing for me but people don't do this kind of stuff often so I get rude and suspicious. He looks down at me. "Because you're my friend and no woman should pay for stuff while I'm around." He said holding my waist tighter. On a scale of one to ten on the creepo scale, he's definitely in the nines. I slowly try to slither my way out of his grip and Johnny's practically having his jaw down to the ground. "You got a boyfriend!?" He almost shouted alerting some of the people that were close around us. "Shut up." I said in a calm voice. He didn't stop there, he just laughed and put a hand on the guy with black hair's shoulder. "You got a lucky one. I swear this girl doesn't date anyone, ever! You better keep her and make sure you never let go of that one." The guy smiled back. "I sure will." He came down to kiss me on the cheek but by that time I had already got out of his grip and he missed. "Bitchy as always. She doesn't like kissing in public. Hold on Princess!" He said trying to catch me as I walked out of the door. "Wow." Johnny said still laughing inside. The guy in the black caught up with me. "Why are you going in the forest? You don't use cars?" I turned around and walked up to where he was. "You know damn well why I was in the forests so don't even try to give that talk. I should put you back in your place right now but since I'm being sentimetal, I'll let you have a pass. Look, I don't know who you are or who sent you after me but I assure you if you keep this up It's likely you won't make It out alive. Get out of here before someone might see you. You know you aren't supposed to be here. So thank you for buying my books and vanilla and chocolate but that's It. Leave me alone or you'll regret It later." He grabbed my arms as I walked away. My natural instinct kicked in and I almost snapped, almost exposing my fangs. "Get away!" I said and walked away fast through the woods. This time he didn't follow me.

Chapter 3
I AM SO ANGRY that I forget that someone was following me again. By the time I realised, I was already across the street from my house. I stop walking. "How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone?!" I scream and turn around. No one's there. I turn back around. "Whoa! Where the hell did you come from?" I said to Joey. Out of all the people in the group, I didn't expect Joey to come looking for me. "Madeline said after the first time you called her, she couldn't reach you anymore and she called me." We stay silent for a few quiet seconds. "Well I'm fine. You can go back to what you were doing before. I'll see you tonight." I said walking past him. "Right. Tonight. About that-" I turned about sharply and quick. "What?" I said wanting to know what he was rambling on about. "You see, I won't be able to come, because I was going to hang out with my guy friends." He means his human guy friends. I've seen them before and warned him to stay away from the humans. I've warned everyone in our group to stay away. "No. You know our race must not interfere with the human race." He came a step closer. "You're such a hypocrite. Your friend Johnny is human and you were out there at the bookstore today. You're so full of shit." Three....two...one. "First of all, don't you dare talk to me as if I were someone beneath you. I know you would never talk to Randolf like that. He'd kick your ass in a heartbeat and I'm about seconds away from doing the same. And second, Johnny isn't human, he's a angel. He just works at the bookstore because that's always what he's wanted to do."

"WELL EXCUSE ME THEN. I didn't know we couldn't be around humans." He said so arrogantly. I grow irritate just listening to the boy. "If you don't show up to hunting It's fine, It's better than going near humans. The only reason why I'm letting you stay in this group is because your brother would have wanted you to, you understand? So if you don't decide to come hunting tonight, fine but don't except me to welcome you back in." He's been doing this for months. Hanging out with his guy friends late at night and chasing and hooking up with girls all around town-I'm frankly tired of It. And as I said that, I walked away. It's his choice-ultimately and I have done all I could to try and keep him away. He just walks away from me and back into the forests. I walk back into my house and I'm greeted by a: "Where have you been? I've been so worried about you!" Madeline says as I open the door. "Doesn't anyone know how to knock around here?" I say. Galen is sitting around my dinning room area. "Hello Vadell." He greets me to walks up to hug me. He sort of stops midway and looks at Madeline. "What's-" I can't finish the sentence because suddenly Galen is holding me and reaching for my neck. I push him hard away-so hard in fact he busts through my glass table in the living room. "Sorry." I said. He got up quickly. "It's fine. You had every right to do that. I was just-" I cut him off. "Yeah I know." I remember how hard It was to contain your thirst for blood. I was killing villages out. Those were the days. Getting back to the present however, "What's wrong?" I said after my neck quickly healed from such a small bruise. "Another vampire leader has disappeared. We think the werewolves are behind It."

Chapter 4
"NO SURPRISE THERE, LATELY I've been seeing a lot of them in our teritory." I say. Madeline looked shocked. "Hello? The leader that disappeared was from Malestrom." Malestrom is one of most commonly known packs in Wisconson. We run into them every now and then, but our paths don't cross that much and we don't really have much to say to one another. "So what you're saying is..?" I said drifting off. "So what I'm saying is you can't be just walking off to places without a car, or us. It's not safe here anymore. You need protection." Madeline said. I chuckled at that. "Well aren't you a part of Protection Service? I think I"m strong enough and smart enough to know when to stay inside, and as for me needing protection? I don't need anyone for that, I take care of myself just fine." I said. Galen brushed himself off and walked over to where Madeline was standing. "All Madeline is trying to say is you need to watch out for yourself, and the pack as well. Grand Falls isn't what It used to be anymore, we have to be even more careful." Galen explained. I understand that, It's just that I don't want anyone watching my back, I do a fine job at that myself at that thank you.

Fire

Prologue
RAIN. IT HAD TO rain on the first day of work. Great. Just perfect. I'm standing just right outside of a an old wooden blue house. Looks like no body's home but I know better. Trying to keep a low profile I see, I think silently. I hold the now damp paper in my hand. 'There's a spare key under the mat' the writing says on It. I bend down and look under the mat that says 'Welcome' on It. Just like the writing said, right under the mat. I don't really know why someone like the person who lives here would need a key but that's none of my business. Dusting myself off a little, I carefully place the key in the lock and It automatically opens. Just that easy huh? It can't possibly be this easy. Something's up. Slowly, I walk inside, making sure I don't make myself too loud, that would blow my cover. Looking to the right of the wooden stairway I see the living room which hardly has anything in It other than a plasma screen TV. Weird. You'd think guys would really go overboard and have such expensive things like a huge TV, a couch, a fireplace, and whatever else I forgot to mention, but no. Guess not. And to the left lies the kichen which is just the place I was looking for. Grabbing a set of matches from my pocket and placing the backpack I had on my back on the small wooden table, I take out the huge gallon of fuel and take the cap off. It smells horrifying but I'll deal. Quietly, I turn the oven on start to turn the oven on 500 degrees, and start putting the fuel on the floor. She said the first room on the left right, my mind quietly asks. We'll well just have to see for certain. Walking upstairs I become more and more nerve-racking because the stairs won't stop creaking below me. Not a good sign if he's not asleep, then again if he's not asleep he would've killed me already so I guess I'm in the clear for now. First room on the left. I keep pouring the gasoline fuel on the floor until I hear a pang. I jump back a little bit. I could always hit the button on my wrist covered with my wristband, but no. Not this time. I will get this done all by myself.

I hear more pangs but then I look down the hall at the window and realize It was just the rain hitting the glass so hard. Gosh, this mission is really getting me all nervous and jumpy for nothing. I press my ear to the door to make sure I don't hear any moments from inside. Although It could be a trap and he could be just waiting for my move. It can really go either way. After a few more minutes I determine he's asleep and pour some gasoline right outside his bedroom. I slowly back away and pour the last of the gasoline in the living room. With the box of matches still in my hand, I light up the match. BOOM! The door from the left is completely shattered and an angry blond haired vampire comes flying out of the room. I completely drop the match and before I knew It, the blond haired vampire was already down the stairs when the house was blown into tiny pieces. I'm completely protected because of a magnetic force field around me so It doesn't bother me. Mission accomplished. I'm Joelene Dugart, and yes, if you're wondering, I'm a human vampire hunter.

Chapter 1
Before I even have time to look back at my accomplished mission I have to run, run away from the scene. No use in staying if you don't want to get caught by the police. I'm sure residents near by are already doing so. And anyway, It's still raining hard too so It's not like the fire explosion I started is going to sustain very long. They couldn't have given me the mission on a day where It wasn't raining? Note: Never wear a dress when It's raining either. It just makes everything worse. Good thing I have boots on though. It helps me run through the mud and the grass as tall as me. It's hard navigating your way around with so much grass in the way; It's like a never ending maze. But I've gone this way before, I just have got to get through this mudhole. It seems that the deeper I go into the grassy muddy area, the harder the mud is to get out of. Yep. A very bad day to choose a dress for my first mission. As I stumble through the mud, a roaring thunder alarms me enough to quicken my speed a little. At the edge of the grassy area, my people are supposed to be at the end in a truck. Another bolt of lighting hits the ground and I'm nearly running like a bat out of hell to get into the truck with mud flying in the air as well. I can tell some of the truck out now.

A huge black Tahoe awaits and the door is opened with Levi's hands ready to take me in. I'm so close to the truck when I feel my boot get stuck in the huge thick of mud. Levi has now got out of the truck and tried to help me out of It, but he himself if in a bit of a rut. After 60 quick panicking seconds of trying to get out, we finally reach the truck. "Congrats," Rainer says looking at Levi and I from the mirror in the front. Rainer has been my mentor for 9 months and he's been pushing me every day for this moment."Thanks," I say out of breath. "Yeah, you did a great job, way better than any other vampire hunter who was on their first mission." Levi is my friend and we are both vampire hunters. He didn't have to do any missions today so he decided to tag along. He's another one of the few humans that got to be vampire hunter. Only few humans can do the job that we do. They have to have superhuman abliites and know how to use them correctly or have connections with someone who is a vampire hunter have to be obligated to become on. Both of which I have. Mostly the good vampires are the ones who do this kind of thing but there are few humans that do this too. And the only response I have for that is to nod my head. He understands. I'm out of breathe from running and getting stuck in mud. Rainer immediately drives off and we're on the road again. "You look like crap." Rainer says to both of us but mostly to me. "Ha, thanks for the input." For the first time today, I actually look at myself. There's mud and whatever else in my black hair, mud all over my black and white dress, and definitely on my boots. "Your mother would be proud." He said in a sorrow voice. She died when I was two when she was on a mission to kill a vampire, she just wasn't careful enough. "Yeah." That's all I could say.

Finally, after three hours of driving, we stop for gas, and I ask Rainer to get me a hot dog and a umbrella if they have one. Now I'm left alone in the truck with Levi. "So what have you been up to lately? You never answer your phone or email me back." Levi says. I pause for a moment. I have been avoiding him for a while and so sooner or later he's gonna want a explanation on why I haven't answered him back. "Rainer's been training me every day to become a better vampire hunter, except for Sundays, so I don't have time for much else,' I say. For a long moment he just stares at me and I stare back at him. He's testing me to see if I'm lying to him: I am. But It's hard to pull a fast one on Levi. He's about my 18 which is a year older than me but I swear he's like a living lie detector or something. After a while, he decides to believe me for once and says, "Okay, I just wanted to know what have you doing lately." He says in sad tone. I feel sorry for lying to him like that, truthfully. "Well what have you been up to since we last talked?" I asked trying to get some of the mud out of my hair. It's still raining pretty hard even though we're miles away from where we were. "Not much. Just finishing the last of high school, going on missions, and few other stuff." He said. He's wearing a AC DC band tee shirt and black pants. I can't really judge him for wearing that so I leave the comment alone. "Good for you." I say. And until Rainer gets back here we sit in silence, just looking out at the rain that's getting heavier and heavier by the minute. After what seems like an eternity, Rainer finally runs back to the truck and hands me a hot dog with a Coke-a-cola on the side. "Want some?" I offer. Levi shakes his head but I give him some of my fries and place in a napkin in his lap, just in-case he changes his mind. A few minutes later he finally eats some of the fries but I can't help but wonder is he mad at me? I could understand if he is.

We're on our way back to Raleigh, North Carolina. Yes, It was a very long drive from Marion North Carolina, near the Tennessee border. It's becoming nightfall and the rain has died down a little bit since our last two stops at the gas station and I figure that Levi and I aren't going to talk much more on the trip so I let my eye lids close. It's been a long day, so I think I deserve a rest. We should be back in Raleigh in the next few hours. It seems like every time I've had a very long stressful day, I get good dreams. I don't know why but It just happens. Maybe I'll dream of mom tonight, or maybe just plain nothingness, who knows? I feel warm against something, and It feels good. I snuggle against It some more and then my eyes fly open when I look straight into Levi's eyes. "Hey to you too." He says and smiles. I'm to tired to respond and to move out of his grasp so I just lay there in his arms until we get to Raleigh. In another hour or so we should be back. I hear Rainer in the front teasing me and Levi about something so I just mumble, 'Go away' under my breath. After another hour or so, Levi nudges me to get up. "Or would you rather me carry you?" He said went I was just waking up. "Whatever," I say as I slam the door behind me. The rain has stopped. The building Harry works at is failry tall. He's part of this huge company, but he's one of the most well known vampire hunters to date. He doesn't do It anymore but I here stories of when he use to back then. My mom was well known as well, just when people think of her, they immediatly say 'She was a fighter', you know? Stuff like that. The inside of the building is huge, other than the fact that this place looks like a hospital with all the white lifeless walls. And as we walk up to the building downtown where Harry, my father, works, when I'm greeted by a girl with long dirty blond hair who looks me up and down and says, "That's my half sister? I guess It's true that they do keep let cats and dogs in."

Chapter 2
Levi was right behind me and stepped forward towards the girl. I held my hand out and he stopped. This is the last thing I want to deal with right now. She couldn't be more than fifteen years old. With her black fringe tunic and black jeans shorts I wouldn't be caught dead in, and some sort of a long necklace that looks like a green gem I believe, with the old black boots and a long studed purse. "Excuse me?" I say. Harry never said anything about a half-sister? He married another woman after shortly after mom died, but never said anything about this? "You're excused," she said in a snapish tone. And out of nowhere, Harry shows up behind this girl who claims I'm her half-sister. I push the girl out of the way (and partly because I'm about tired of hearing her talk) and step face-to-face with Harry. "Is this true Harry?" I ask, completely furious with him. He frowns a little bit. He's got black hair and a few gray streaks in It but instead of having green eyes like mine, he has hazel ones and he's wearing that old black suit that he always seems to have on. His bodyguards behind him are ready for any attack that might be looping apon us. "Easy you two," He tells his bodyguards. He turns his attenion back to me. "Now I've told  you before to call me dad-" I cut him off. "You don't act like one," I mutter under my breath. He stops talking and I could imagine Levi's face behind me falling to the floor. Even his guards a little surprised. It's true. He doesn't act like one. "Now isn't the time or place for that dissicusion young lady," He says in his "serious voice." Yeah, right, I think quietly. "As I was saying, yes Hazel is your half sister. A little after you were one-" I cut him off again. "Please skip that part." I said not wanting to know. "You stayed with your Uncle until the time you were 8 and I wanted to wait until you were older to tell you so you could understand more clearer." Ha, It doesn't get much clearer than this. "So you decided to tell me 15 years later?!" I scream. "16." Hazel says in a still snapish tone while wiping off the mud I put on her arms. Two mintues into talking with 'Miss Morgan' and I already don't like her. "She'll be coming to live with us since her Aunt Adele was killed a few days ago." I could see Morgan's face change at the thought of her Aunt mentioned. I start to fell a little sorry for her until-"Wait, you said she's gonna be staying here with us?" That came out a little harsher than I intended. "Yes, I'm coming to live with you guys. What part of that didn't you get?" She said going back to being a pain in the butt. "Easy now," Harry said, now feeling the tension in the air.

It's been in the air ever since she opened her mouth. Growing tired of her attitude, and Harry's presence alone, I turn my back on all of them an head downstairs where I sleep. The bottom of the building is sort of like a small apartment or hotel. "well welcome to hell, just try not to get burned, will you?" I say as I hug Levi goodnight. "And also, she'll be going to school with you tommorrow," Harry calls after me. I just wave all off and open the door to the spiral staircase which eventually leads to my room on the last room to the left. I open the door to my room and I'm shocked. The whole left side of my room has changed from my queen sized bed to having twin beds and the one on the left has tons of luggage on It. "Oh no." I say out loud. A knock at the door distracts me from being anymore furious. "And she's also taking part of your room." Harry said as I opened the door. "Guess you forgot to mention that part as well." I said. He said nothing and Hazel appeared behind him? How do they keep doing that? This is only temporary until we get you two with your group." Harry says. The 'group' he's reffering to is a group of vampire hunters, living under the same roof. "Mhmm." I say growing ever more annoyed. I move to the side to let Hazel in and Harry says goodnight to the both of us. "Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, congrats," Harry said. "Thanks." I said closing the door. It's only the two of us now, alone. We'll see if she'll act any different now that Harry's not around. "So-" She cut me off. "Look, I don't want to know anything about you. I know all I need to know about you. You're the superhuman freak who only got in because you daddy's a vampire hunter superstar, okay? So from now on you and I don't talk." She rose her voice at the end. Alright, no more trying to play nice. "Okay, first of all, you don't talk to me like I'm a piece of crap. Second, I suggest you stop trying to be a brat. You won't last long around here if you do." I said, completely worn out. Morgan has moved all her luggage while I was talking to her. "Goodnight Joey," she said not even changing her clothes and covering herself with the blue covers. "It's Joelene." I said. "Whatever. Goodnight." She said, turning her body away from me. I can tell we're going to get along just fine. Like best friends who haven't seen each other in a while. Yeah, right. I decide to take a shower to wipe the junk out of my hair and off my clothes and  climb into bed. I can't help thinking what Morgan's life was back at home. Has she always been this way or only when her Aunt died? Hard to tell because I have a feeling she could of acted like this at home as well. My thoughts finally come to a rest when I drift off into a endlless sleep.

A radio station booms through my alarm clock and I annoyingly turn It off, not wanting to know what time It is. A loud thud hits me right on my head. That sends me flying out of the bed. "What in the hell do you think you're doing!" I yell at Morgan. Morgan points to the clock. "The old man said I had to wake you up 'or else'." She air-quoted the last part and left the room. It's 6:45-wait 6:45? I rush to find a long zebra tank top and ripped jeans with boots and grab my purse and upstairs where Harry and Morgan are waiting for me by the now clean black Tahoe. It looks a lot better now that It isn't drenched in mud. "Looks like I'll be the only one keeping everyone on track today," Morgan says tiredly. "I doubt that,"  I said walking up to the truck. She chuckles faintly and says nothing else. Harry walks up to the truck and says, "Now, Jolene you be sure to watch out for Morgan today and Morgan, try to have fun." She smiles faintly. The truck zooms off the moment Harry is through talking. Rainer has a heavy foot. "Why was Harry in such a rush this morning," I ask. It's really not a surprise because he does It all the time but I'm curious. He's about to go into a meeting to dicuss the murders of Morgan's Aunt and the other rash murders that have been going on recently. At the sound of Morgan's Aunt she jolted from her seat. Uh-oh. "What," she exclaims. "All this time you've known my Aunt was murdered and you didn't tell me about It. How could you," she yells at the end. Now that was wrong. Not telling someone if someone they cared about was murdered, I wouldn't blame her for yelling either. And then she said no more and swallowed herself back into the seat. I feel bad for her. The rest of the way in the car is in silence until we reach the school. The silence is almost distrubing in a way. The silence breaks when Rainer says "You two have a good day." Morgan says nothing but close the door in my face. "What the h-" I said angerly. I told Rainer goodbye and closed the door. As soon as I got to the school door something was different about It. I scaned around and look for any signs and I see a girl and I instantly know. We're in trouble.
